Ladies’ Sewing Ministry

The Goodlettsville congregation has a long history of ladies involved in a sewing ministry.

Many articles are made for those in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, children’s clinics, rehabilitation facilities, and those confined to their homes due to sickness or handicaps.  Children’s clothes are made to be sent to the mission fields.

Presently, about 25 ladies are involved in this ministry.  These ladies come to the building every Thursday to sew. Many of these dedicated ladies take projects with them to work on at home.

All ladies interested in this work are welcome to come on Thursday mornings to see this work in progress and join in!

No experience is required to sew. Many projects involve other talents like cutting out patterns, pressing or stuffing (pillows and dolls).

From September to April, the ladies also have a bible class on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m.

Fabrics and sewing notions are donated to the sewing ministry by fabric stores, furniture stores (samples of upholstery) and people who no longer wish to keep their fabric and notions stash. We welcome those donations!

All items made by the Sewing Ministry are donated – never sold.  Many of the items made are shown below and the list of projects continues to grow as requests come in.
